Here’s Victoria Beckham, looking as chic as ever as she leaves her NYC office. She’s in town for New York Fashion Week. Victoria presented her new collection. The NY Times dubbed it her “Grown Up Collection.”
Her collections have grown up politely along with the kids. There was a touch of Céline in the tailored coats, standing away from the body and fastened with a thin gilded chain.
Are you ready to declutter your life? What better time to clean house than while doing your spring cleaning? Oprah Winfrey is ready to show you the way in the March 2014 issue of O magazine! Oprah did this process last fall when she held that huge auction. It was an EPIC downsizing: the auction raised over $600,000 for the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy College Fund. She talked about the experience in O.
On realizing what’s important in life: “When you’re coming into your own, nobody ever teaches you how to ask for less. But over the years, you begin to make distinctions; you start to focus on what’s important, and you start to realize what’s superfluous. You realize that a single piece of art that really speaks to you can be far more powerful than a wall filled with “important” works, that a meal eaten with feet up and pajamas on is usually a lot more pleasurable than any fancy-schmancy food at a black-tie gala, that good conversation with an old friend beats just about everything – that less actually is so much more.”
On how she felt seeing her belongings auctioned off: “I’ll admit that I did feel a midlevel anxiety attack coming on as I paced up and down the lush lawn of the polo grounds, saying my goodbyes. For just a split second, I considered bidding on my own folk-art needlepoint rug with the lovely leaf design, but knowing what you need is more than knowing what you want. And what I need is dogs and books, light and space. Instead of feeling walled in by stuff, I want to feel surrounded by calm.”
I need to make sure I get this issue. I have some clutter of my own to clear out this spring, and I know I get too attached to my “stuff”- LOL. The March issue of O magazine hits newsstands on February 18. How about you: do you hold onto too much or are you quick to toss unused things out?

This A list celebrity/singer refused to pose for photos or talk to fans. She refused to talk to the press. She refused to do anything but have a blank stare. She spoke to no one but her rep. One of the models providing all this Fashion week dirt tried to talk to the celebrity and was ignored. This woman has no friends at all. She is probably the coldest, most fake celebrity I know.
Hmmm… I need to start looking at pics of who has attended Fashion Week. Any guesses?

After the service these men and women have given to our country, it’s the least they deserve. It’s probably so confusing for the poor dogs, wonder where their human BFF suddenly disappears to. No matter how confused the dogs may be about their disappearance, they’re happy to see them return. Make sure you see the dog who jumps out of the back of the car to greet his human :).

This is sad news to wake up to. Shirley Temple, a child star from the 1930’s, died last night at the age of 85 from natural causes. She was the reigning child star as the country’s top box office star from 1935 – 1938; Shirley was more popular than stars such as Clark Gable, Bing Crosby, Robert Taylor, Gary Cooper and Joan Crawford, according to People. Her films, such as ‘Curly Top’ and ‘The Littlest Rebel,’ are credited with saving movie studio 20th Century Fox from bankruptcy. I remember watching her movies on TV on Sunday mornings when I was a kid: she was adorable!
Shirley retired from Hollywood at the age of 21; even back then, it was difficult to make the transition from child star to adult star. There were no steamy photoshoots for her! When she was honored by SAG in 2006, Shirley said:
I have one piece of advice for those of you who want to receive the lifetime achievement award. Start early.”
Shirley went into politics as an adult and even became the ambassador to Czechoslovakia. She married twice; her second marriage to Charles Black lasted for more than 50 years. He died just a few months ago. For those of you who never saw a Shirley Temple movie, take a look at her singing ‘On The Good Ship Lollipop.’
